A checkup and cleaning every six months costs less than one filling, and a lot less than a crown. Most of what we treat in Woodland could have been caught earlier.
What preventive care covers
- Checkups and cleanings: exam, digital X-rays, gum measurements, oral cancer screening, and a cleaning by our hygienist.
- Children's dentistry: first visits by the first birthday, fluoride, sealants and gentle fillings.
- Sealants: a protective coating in the grooves of the back teeth, no drilling.
- Gum disease treatment: deep cleaning that stops bleeding gums and loose teeth.
How preventive visits work at SpringLake
- Same hygienist, same dentist. The person who measured your gums in March is the one who checks them in September.
- Shown, not told. X-rays and camera photos go on the screen so you see what we see.

Preventive care is the least dramatic thing we do and the most valuable. A cleaning every six months and an exam with X-rays once a year catch cavities while they are small, gum disease before it costs a tooth, and wear from grinding before it needs a crown.
What a checkup includes
- Cleaning by a hygienist, including under the gumline where brushing cannot reach.
- Exam by Dr. Harlovjeet Singh, DDS, with anything worth watching shown to you on screen.
- Digital X-rays once a year, or as needed.
- Oral cancer screening at every exam.
- Fluoride for children and for adults with sensitivity or high cavity risk.
Families
We see children from their first tooth and book families back to back, so one trip covers everyone. Our team speaks English, Hindi, Punjabi and Spanish, which makes a difference when a grandparent brings the kids.
If it has been a while
Nobody here will lecture you. Book a checkup, we will look, and we will tell you plainly what needs doing and what can wait. Nitrous oxide is available if the visit itself makes you anxious.

How often should I have a cleaning?
Every six months for most adults. Every three to four months if you have gum disease or a history of it.
Are checkups covered by insurance?
Most PPO plans cover two cleanings and exams a year at 100%. We confirm your benefits before the visit.
Can my kids and I be seen at the same time?
Yes. We book families in one block so everyone is seen in one trip.
