What are the details of teeth whitening?

Initial Consultation: Before the treatment, the dentist will assess the health of your teeth and gums. This may involve a cleaning and evaluation of your dental history to ensure you’re a good candidate for whitening. If there are any existing cavities, gum issues, or other concerns, these will be addressed before the whitening process.
Gum Protection: A protective gel or rubber shield is applied to your gums to keep them safe from the bleaching agent.
Whitening Gel Application: A professional-strength whitening gel is applied to the surface of your teeth. This gel contains either hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide, which breaks down stains and lightens the tooth color.
The whitening process typically lasts 30 to 90 minutes. In some cases, the process may be done in multiple sessions for more dramatic results.
Post-Treatment Care: After the treatment, the dentist may give you tips on how to care for your newly whitened teeth to maintain the results, such as avoiding certain foods and drinks that could cause staining (e.g., coffee, red wine, or tobacco).
